RE/MAX of Southern Africa proudly launched its new hot air balloon at Parkview Golf Club, JHB, on 22 August 2022. The iconic red, white, and blue of the RE/MAX Hot Air Balloon lit up the sky as guests enjoyed an evening of food, drinks, and live music.
“We retired our old balloon over two years ago as it had reached the end of its lifespan and its old branding needed to be refreshed,” explains Adrian Goslett, Regional Director and CEO of RE/MAX of Southern Africa. “This presented the opportunity for us to purchase a slightly larger balloon that could accommodate more people. This new balloon now has space for three passengers along with the pilot.”
From the brand’s inception, the RE/MAX hot air balloon has been an integral part of the brand’s marketing strategy. First introduced at the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta in 1978, the RE/MAX Balloon has become one of the most recognized corporate symbols on the planet, and understandably so. At seven stories tall, the RE/MAX Hot Air Balloon grabs attention wherever it flies.
The balloon perfectly represents the RE/MAX network’s “Above the Crowd” commitment to quality. Today, the nearly 120 RE/MAX Hot Air Balloons in operation comprise the largest fleet on the planet. In logo form, the RE/MAX Balloon is virtually everywhere, and when people see it, they think of the local RE/MAX agents they know.
“This is why we thought that it so important to own a physical hot air balloon to fly at events across the country. We hope that the balloon will bring lots of joy and excitement to the communities we serve. Our launch party was the first of many events where the RE/MAX Hot Air Balloon will feature, many of which will offer free tethered flights to the public,” says Goslett.
