REMAX Coats & Cans Collection 2026

As the colder weather kicks in across South Africa, many families, individuals, and animals face the season without access to adequate warmth, food, or shelter. In response, REMAX offices nationwide are once again opening their doors to collect donations as part of the annual Coats & Cans Collection.

Now a longstanding tradition within the REMAX network, the initiative encourages agents, clients, and community members to come together in support of local charities, shelters, feeding schemes, and animal welfare organisations during the colder months.

"The Coats & Cans Collection is a simple yet powerful reminder that small acts of generosity can make a significant difference in someone's life. We are incredibly proud of the offices, agents, clients, and community members who continue to support this initiative year after year,” says Adrian Goslett, CEO and Regional Director of REMAX Southern Africa.

Participating REMAX offices will be collecting a range of essential items, including:

  • Blankets, jackets, jerseys, scarves, gloves, and other warm clothing
  • Non-perishable food items such as canned goods, rice, pasta, cereals, and long-life milk
  • Pet food, blankets, and other supplies for animal welfare organisations

All donations collected through the campaign will be distributed to local beneficiaries identified by participating REMAX offices, ensuring that support reaches communities where it is needed most.

In 2025, REMAX agents were able to make a valuable impact across South Africa as part of this campaign. Some of the collections included:

  • REMAX Bay collected 627 coats and canned goods that were shared with Buffelsfontein Retirement Village, Forever Family Homes, and Zanethemba.
  • REMAX Dazzle focused on giving back to the heroes at animal rescue organisations and collected 70 warm coats for rescue workers, a generous amount of animal food and items.
  • REMAX Independent Properties collected 839 items to support those in need. All items were donated to Yokhuselo Haven, a shelter that provides support to women and children affected by domestic abuse.
  • REMAX Lagoon Estates handed over their collection to Langebaan Feed the Need', Team Langebaan and Langebaan Animal Care for distribution to people and animals in need within their local community.
  • REMAX Lifestyle Estates collected and distributed coats and canned goods to SAVF Herfsakker Old Age Home and Liznica House of Hope.
  • REMAX Living donated coats and non-perishable food to The Hope Exchange, an organisation providing vital support to the homeless and vulnerable in their community.
  • REMAX Property Associates donated all food and clothing items collected to Home of Hope, a registered non-profit organisation that provides care services for abused, abandoned and neglected children in our country.
  • REMAX Property Professionals donated a bag of clothes to a family who had lost their home in a fire. Food supplies were also donated to John Vorster Old Age Home, and several bags of clothing were handed over to less fortunate families.
  • REMAX Unity donated non-perishable food, blankets, and warm clothing to the residents of M.E.S. Port Elizabeth, an NPC committed to uplifting inner-city communities and creating pathways out of poverty and homelessness.
  • REMAX SA HQ raised money & collected donations through the GiveUnity app to hand over to UTurn Homeless shelters across Cape Town and JHB. In total, we donated R5,000 and 4 box loads of tinned food and clothing to this worthwhile cause.

As the 2026 campaign gets underway, REMAX extends its sincere gratitude to everyone who chooses to support the initiative. Together, we can help ensure that more people and animals experience warmth, comfort, and care this winter.
