RE/MAX Business Operations for COVID-19

Following President Cyril Ramaphosa’s declaration of the COVID-19 situation as a national disaster and placing the country into a lockdown for 21 days beginning 26 March, we believe that it is our responsibility to support the president’s decision while we continue to provide value-adding property services.

Shortly after hearing that the virus had entered South Africa, our Regional Support Office sent out Recommended COVID-19 Operational Guidelines and asked all brokers to shift business practices to virtual channels as far as possible as to minimise the spread of this disease.

Our Regional Support Office will continuously monitor the developments of the COVID-19 pandemic, both locally and abroad, and will continue to update these operational guidelines as required.

How will this affect your interactions with RE/MAX?
We realise that most of our clients have urgent property needs and income streams that could be affected. We therefore commit to continue serving our existing clients as well as new buyers, sellers, landlords and tenants.

RE/MAX has always been a frontrunner in terms of our advanced technology offering to our agents. We shall therefore continue to operate at full capacity, further developing our technology to help our agents continue operating even in a full lockdown. We endeavour to keep innovating and doing whatever we can to conclude successful transactions and property transfers over this time. This includes suggesting digital alternatives for all your property needs, including virtual walk-throughs where possible, digital advertising, face-time video calls and much more.

Though there will be no face-to-face interactions over this time, we encourage you to still make use of our online services. Visit our website to search for properties that match your needs, or request a property valuation and your local RE/MAX agent will be in touch with you. For a little at-home entertainment to keep your spirits up, read up on the latest property news and advice on our blog or follow us on social media.

We truly thank you for your understanding and encourage you to join our efforts in operating responsibly and productively during these unique circumstances.

Stay safe. Stay informed. Together, we can rise above this.
