CATTLE AND IRRIGATION FARM

The Farm is richly endowed with plains game as well, notably Kudu, Eland, Warthog and smaller species like Damara dik-dik and Duiker. 

Infrastructure

  • The infrastructure is in moderate condition, designed for simplicity in operation and ease of management. The farmstead boasts a generous design and an appealing location. The service buildings include storerooms, an engine room, workshops, and a laundry room. A large, shed houses grass bales and machinery for producing grass pellets. The main residence features four bedrooms with built-in cupboards, two bathrooms, and a spacious kitchen. An annexed one-bedroom flat adjoins the house. Additionally, there is a sizable abattoir and a cooler room. Accommodations for six workers are provided. The property is equipped with Nampower three-phase electricity.

Irrigating

  • The garden boasts an array of Citrus, Mango, and Banana trees. Initially, approximately 50 hectares were dedicated to dry-land Bloubuffel (Cenchrus cillaris) grass. The property is granted a water extraction permit of 100,000m³ per year. An 8-hectare Lucerne field is supported by a 3-tower pivot irrigation system. The dry-land cultivation area has the potential to expand by an additional 75 hectares adjacent to the main farmstead. The Lucerne harvest undergoes processing in a hammer mill and pelletizing plant with a production capacity of three tons per day. The irrigation system includes 6.5 hectares under pivot irrigation and 3 hectares under sprinkler irrigation. The main farmstead is equipped with three boreholes, two of which have submersible pumps with a proven yield of 55 m³/hour. Additionally, there is an annual water permit for 100,000 m³ for irrigation purposes.

Cattle

  • There are 16 Camps with cattle corridors and cattle maintenance areas. 

Grazing

  • The Savanna opens flat with tributary beds of the Omuramba Ovambo. It boasts an excellent range of varied landscapes, hosting various Acacia species and Marula Palm trees, along with fodder bushes. The soil composition is diverse, featuring deep red earth, shallower calciferous soil, and black turf. A standing permit allows for the annual harvest of 10 Eland. The grazing quality is high, benefiting from an area known for its consistent and ample rainfall. A selection of different game species has been introduced to offer a variety of trophy animals for the discerning hunter or breeder. Accommodations include a beautiful, tented lodge and campsite, in addition to a manager's house and an Owner's cottage.

Lodge and Camping

  • The lodge features four double-volume luxury tents, each fully equipped with amenities including a front porch, an indoor living area, and en-suite bathrooms. An elevated kitchen and dining area, along with an outdoor seating space, are also available. Secluded tents are connected by picturesque walkways through green lawns and water features. A large BOMA is nestled under an expansive Marula tree. Additionally, there are six campsites, each offering separate ablution blocks and basic kitchen amenities. These private campsites are situated beneath stately Marula trees, complete with their own lawn spaces. For management, a luxurious two-bedroom bungalow with en-suite bathrooms is provided. The property also includes multiple game breeding enclosures and areas for free-roaming wildlife, complemented by an abundant bird life.
