TAMBOERSKLOOF
Sprawled across the slopes of the Table Mountain range, Tamboerskloof is yet another of the suburbs which form part of the famous Cape Town City Bowl. Ideally positioned on a direct route between the CBD of Cape Town and the seaside suburb of Camps Bay, Tamboerskloof is a suburb which seems to contain a ‘little bit of everything”. It has a large cross-section of age groups among its population and is well-known for being cosmopolitan in nature.
Tamboerskloof is an old established suburb and it too possesses the same breathtaking views as its neighbouring suburbs.
Properties in Tamboerskloof range from free standing mostly spacious houses, to cottages, townhouses and apartment blocks. However, given the size of the area, there is no more space to build additional homes or apartments. And that which is already there certainly does come at a price. After all, this is another of Cape Town’s gems.
Tamboerskloof also utilises the City Bowl when it comes to amenities and schools. It is largely a residential area and sports the odd convenience store, pub and deli. Whilst Tamboerskloof is more of a ‘family-life’ type of area, it does tend to lend itself to the influences of its closest neighbour, namely Oranjezicht (‘Orange View’).
Shopping-wise Tamboerskloof residents, by and large, utilise the ever popular Gardens Shopping Centre. For further shopping, the city centre is a twenty minute walk from Tamboerskloof, as is the nightlife at the top of the famous Long Street
Property dwellers in Tamboerskloof, as in the case of the other City Bowl suburbs, are medically served by no fewer than four world class hospitals, namely the Chris Barnard Memorial Hospital, the Cape Town Medi-Clinic, Somerset Hospital and the famous Groote Schuur Hospital.
