SUNNINGDALE

Sunningdale is situated adjacent to West Beach along the west coast, a 10 minute drive from Table View and forms an integral part of the cluster of suburbs including Bloubergsands, Bloubergstrand, Atlantic Beach Golf Estate and Big Bay. A mere 25-minute drive from Cape Town, Sunningdale is on the Parklands side of the R27, and has a great view of Table Mountain and Cape Town.

In keeping with all the suburbs in the area, Sunningdale has grown significantly over the past few years, symptomatic of an area which is generally expanding more rapidly than anywhere else (it is worth noting that Parklands, which borders with Sunningdale, is the fastest-growing suburb in South Africa). The brand new Blaauwberg Netcare Private Hospital is situated close to Sunningdale and is surrounded by a cluster of new shopping centres which house many of the major SA franchise stores and restaurants.

The beaches of the west coastline are all in close proximity to Sunningdale. These beaches all offer long stretches of white sand and are highly popular among surfers and kite surfers, thanks to the large crashing waves, supported by the sometimes strong southeasterly winds of the Western Cape.

The new Sunningdale commercial developments offer a whole host of restaurants and pubs with excellent speciality shops being a feature. This area has a largely young community and therefore makes extensive use of the nearby Table View and Parklands which provide the bigger shopping malls, schools, as well as all other amenities, including cinemas, gyms and other entertainment and sports facilities.

Whilst Sunningdale does have a view select guest houses, it is primarily a residential suburb, catering particularly for younger families with school going children and many first-time homebuyers. Townhouse complexes and secure villages are also popular property type in Sunningdale.
