CRESTVIEW
Situated on a hill, on a crest some way above Durban is the aptly named suburb of Crestview. Close to well-known suburbs such as Kloof and Hllcrest, Crestview is also intersected by the M13 highway, making it part of the collectively named Upper Highway Area (or Outer West region of Durban).
Crestview is an area where people seek a safer, less crowded and less bustling, country lifestyle, whilst still being close to – and part of the Durban City environs.
What was once nothing but large tracts of vacant land are now re-emerging as gated security communities, golf estates and retirement villages. Properties in Crestview are generally large, with plot sizes ranging between 2000 and 4000 square metres. There is a well-balanced mix of property with both townhouses and freestanding residential homes. In addition, property buyers and investors can choose from a variety of living styles, including apartments, cluster developments, security villages, guest houses, or simply opt to purchase vacant land in the area.
For residents of Crestview there is plenty activity and lots to do, and although its country atmosphere has not been compromised by heavy industry (of which there is none in the area), Crestview’s proximity to Durban (the Upper Highway suburbs are all about 20 minutes drive from the city centre), means that its residents can have the best of both worlds.
Crestview is a suburb of large estates and villas, and shares amenities, shopping centres and restaurants with its larger and more developed neighbouring areas such as Kloof and Hillcrest. It is served by the schools in those areas as well as most of the excellent schools in Durban itself.
Crestview is noted for its lush, green gardens, with a great climate that is free of humidity and frost. With the beautiful beaches and other attractions of Durban a short drive away, Crestview
(which is on the famous Comrades Marathon route), is a place worth consideration by discerning property investors. Whilst not known for cheap property prices, Crestview real estate certainly offers great value and return on investment.
