Why RE/MAX?
RE/MAX International Property Group was formed based on the deficiencies of the real estate industry. The fundamental deficiency being that, not all people operate at the same level of efficiency, yet are remunerated at the same percentage rate of commission.
Consider the following scenario of having an agent generating a gross commission of
R60,000. R30,000 goes to the agent and R30,000 goes to the office. Simarlarly, another agent produces a turnover of only R4000 where R2000 goes to the agent and R2000 goes to the office. The top producing agent in that office is paying R28,000 more for the same services provided by the office to the bottom performing agent. Over time the penny drops with these top producing agents. Eventually they leave your office, become your competition and repeat the same mistakes. And so the cycle continues.
At RE/MAX we equalise the cost of services provided to our agents by creating a menu of services that the agent may choose from and is responsible for. This model is similar to that used by associations of lawyers and doctors where these professionals share a portion of the costs involved in running their business but receive 100% of the income they generate. It is this simple shift in approach where the RE/MAX agent receives 100% commission for being accountable and responsible for their costs of business that has made RE/MAX an international phenomenon. Simply put, it is a model designed by real estate people for real estate people, where agents can be in business for themselves but not by themselves.
